A soft lilac and blue story depicts insects in a playful manner, and is
combined with little African huts and stripes. The duvet is adorned with
a patch of organza and the canopy is made from blue organza. The scatterpillows are also covered with organza.

NUNGU SET

The technique was developed from an ancient tradition. The designs on this linen range were developed by the Nungu Women’s Group. They are a self-help group who live in Huntington, Mpumalanga, bordering the Sabie Sands Game Reserve, South Africa.

The design was developed from the ‘shibelahi’ (the traditional dancing skirt) that little girls wear when doing particular dances at special ceremonies. Originally leather was used, but it is now manufactured on strips of fabric, knotted into a waistband. The big beads on the ‘top’ of the design represent the knots in the ‘shibelahi’. A black and white soft toy sleeps on the duvet in his own miniature bed.
